We formed the Sussex Counselling Collective to make person-centred counselling more accessible throughout East and West Sussex. We offer counselling for depression, anxiety, anger management, and to support bereavement and loss. Whether you have low self-esteem or want to resolve issues around relationships or no longer be a hostage to a phobia or an addiction counselling can help you to make a change.
Our teamwork in a person-centred way, first developed by Carl Rogers in the 1950s. Working together with our clients we employ a process that allows clients to use their own understanding of their experiences as a platform for healing.
We are all members of the BACP and work according to their guidelines on safeguarding, confidentiality and ethics.
The BACP website gives the following definition:
“Person or client-centred therapy is based on the view that everyone has the capacity and desire for personal growth and change, given the right conditions. Rather than being seen as the expert and directing the therapy, the counsellor offers unconditional positive regard, empathy and congruence to help you come to terms with any negative feelings and to change and develop in your own way.”
We’re happy to answer any questions you have about how we work and always have a telephone conversation with any potential client prior to meeting. If you do want to see one of our team it’s important that you have an idea of when you can commit to a regular appointment. We offer affordable rates for the work we do and will discuss these with you prior to meeting.
Whatever the cause of unhappiness and stress in your life one of our team can help you to make a real difference to how you live it.
