I am a Person-Centred Counsellor Registered with the BACP. I have worked for the NHS and as a counsellor in private practice with a wide variety of clients.
Currently I work at the Recovery Lighthouse addiction rehabilitation centre as a psychotherapist assisting addicts in their recovery process. I also operate a private practice in London from the Awareness Centre in Tooting. I take part in regular CPD training and have recently completed a workshop in counselling at relational depth.
I believe that a gentle, non-judgemental approach can open up a space of trust for you to explore what you are experiencing more fully. I hope to help create a genuine empathic relationship which will give you the opportunity to change the way you see yourself, your life story and your future in a way that feels safe and lasting. I work in a Person-Centred way, ensuring that you decide the direction of our sessions and find what you are really looking for. I believe that the body is often a helpful source of understanding and awareness and my practice includes mindfulness practices when appropriate and desired.
I am originally from America and my experience of cultural differences throughout my life has solidified my belief in coming to clients with an open, non-judgemental attitude that can hope to encompass the diversity that we, as human beings, truly embody.
I offer a free 30 min introductory session for us to meet each other and give you the opportunity to decide if you feel like I am the counsellor you would most like to work with. If you would like to continue sessions would last 50 min and be at the same agreed time each week. My fees operate on a sliding scale between 20 and 50 pounds. I offer concessions to counselling students and those on low incomes. This can be negotiated either prior to our initial meeting or during the introductory session.
I look forward to meeting you.
